Fred Alexander, President
Founder of Alexander Sod Farms, Fred has worked tirelessly to build his fledgling company from a small one-person operation to one that employs over 20 people during the busy season. With 40 years in the turf industry under his belt, Fred has also been active within the Quebec Sod Producers Association and Turfgrass Producers International.
When Fred is not out surveying his sod fields to be sure that the quality is up to his standards he can be found talking to his agronomists, helping his customers or discussing new technologies on sod production and maintenance.
Fred's desire to be on the forefront of new information and practices in the sod industry inspires the rest of the Alexander team to maintain the standards he has set for our quality sod production and service.
Mary Ann Alexander, Sales and Marketing Manager
Mary Ann has played an integral role in growing Alexander Sod Farms' reputation over the last 30 years. She has brought it from a small sod farm that mainly sold to a few large clients to one that does business with all kinds of institutions requiring turf grass. We now deal directly with many homeowners, landscapers, contracters, nurseries, golf courses and municipalities.
She has worked very hard at developing new markets and maintaining good relationships with many of our clients, some of whom have been with us for over 20 years.

Operations team
Joyce Alexander, Accountant
With 46 years of experience in accounting, Joyce has no trouble keeping our books in order. She has overseen all of the accounting of Alexander Sod for over 20 years. Joyce also brings a keen eye to developing efficient and effective office practices and enjoys contributing new sales and marketing ideas to the business.
Shaun Alexander, Field Manager
Shaun grew up on the family sod farm and therefore knows a lot about the turf production business. He regularly attends meetings for the Quebec Sod Producers Association and has been on the board of administrators. When he is not out in the fields with his employees overseeing day-to-day operations, he can usually be found meeting with clients.
Debbie Hirt, Office Manager
Debbie has been with us for several years and has been an office manager for well over a decade. She is responsible for keeping our fleet of delivery trucks running on time and on schedule. Debbie also deals directly with clients, ensuring that they get the service and information that they need to keep their projects and businesses running smoothly.
Tim McClurg, Production Manager
Tim has been a member of our team for five years. He is in charge of making sure that when our delivery trucks arrive in the field the orders are ready. His primary concern however is quality control, which guarantees that our clients receive only top quality turf grass. Tim also ensures that irrigation systems are working properly.
David Cookson, Fertiliztion and Maintenance Manager
David was the first employee to be hired by Fred back in 1976 and has been with us ever since. His commitment to the company and its success has always been one of his primary strengths. David oversees the fertilizing and maintenance of the fields and ensures they are properly prepared for our fall seedings, so that we have sufficient amounts of sod for future seasons.
Pierre Lauzon, Chief Mechanic
Pierre has already been with us for over 10 years and has an extensive mechanical background. He oversees all machinery maintenance, with a special focus on our fleet of delivery trucks and trailers. Pierre can also be found helping clients that come to pick up sod or any other of the products that we carry.
