Alexander Sod Farms' History

Alexander Sod Farms was founded in 1969 by Alfred Alexander and Fred Alexander, the company's present day president.

They began by cultivating 10 acres of turf grass on the family's ancestral farm in Terrebonne, Quebec, a task Fred and his father undertook entirely on their own.

Forty years later, Alexander Sod Farms employs 20 people seasonally, and five core staff throughout the year. Fred's wife, sister and three children work with him to uphold the Alexander commitment to quality.

Today the farm operations have grown to more than 400 acres, and the company has become widely known across Quebec for providing top quality Kentucky Bluegrass sod and exceptional customer service.
